Salary in the range of CAN YOU PLEASE GRADE 7 RANGE  per annum inclusive of London Allowance 1*

*This is the expected starting salary for this post however appointment at a higher point may be made for candidates who demonstrate exceptional skills and experience relevant to the role.

Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Researchers to work with Professor  Bahador Bahrami and Professor Manos Tsakiris as part of the project ‘Aesthetic cognitivism for groups: collective ways of looking and sense-making’  funded by the Templeton Religion Trust. The project investigates if and how our interactions with other people in the context of art perception influences our aesthetic experiences and whether such effects can shape the viewers’ gaze in how they evaluate art.

We are looking for talented, highly-skilled and motivated researchers with a PhD in psychology or neuroscience, with a strong background in programming in Python, expertise in eye-tracking and image processing, Interest or experience in interactive real time video production and data analysis. As much of the project will take place in art galleries and museums the successful applicant should have an interest or experience in conducting research in such settings. 

The Psychology Department, located in Egham, close to Central London, has an excellent research profile (rated joint 3th in the latest Research Excellence Framework) and benefits from state-of-the-art research facilities (e.g. MRI, TMS, EEG, cognitive behavioural testing suites, Babylab).

The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
